These online resources are available to all Minnesota residents free of charge.

AskMN
AskMN – The Librarian Is In!
An online service for information and research help available to all Minnesota residents and students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. AskMN is a cooperative service of Minnesota libraries.

ELM databases
ELM (Electronic Library for Minnesota) gives Minnesota residents online access to magazine, journal, and newspaper articles, eBooks (electronic books), and information from other reference sources.

Minnesota Digital Library
Minnesota Reflections now brings you nearly 45,000 images and documents shared by more than 98 cultural heritage organizations across the state. This site offers a variety of resources on Minnesota's history for researchers, educators, students, and the public.

MnLINK
A statewide virtual library that electronically links you to Minnesota's rich library resources. MnLINK also makes available most of the ELM databases using the barcode number from your public library card to log on.

University of Minnesota Online Sources Available to the Public

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities and other state coordinate campus locations offer public access to a wide variety of library resources, even if you’re not a registered student.

Reference Sources
Find a wide variety of reference tools such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, and public opinion polling data freely available on the web.

Order documents for delivery through our InfoNow Document Delivery Service — InfoNOW, is the fee-based information service from the University of Minnesota Libraries that serves the document, research, and related instructional needs of legal, health care, technology, consulting, and numerous other fields.

University of Minnesota Twin Cities Library

Twin Cities library resources are available to all users from workstations located within a University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus library. Guest work stations are provided to support research, study, and professional activities of non-University users.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Library
The Andersen Horticultural Library affiliated with the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. This is a reading and reference library specializing in horticulture, botany and natural history.

Children’s Literature Research Collection
The non-circulating Children's Literature Research Collection on the Twin Cities campus contains more than 90,000 children’s books, manuscripts, and illustration materials.

The Immigration History Research Center (IHRC)
Research the Immigrant Experience in America at the IHRC, an international resource on American immigration and ethnic history, makes available non-circulating archival and published resources documenting immigration and ethnicity.

University of Minnesota Libraries' Performing Arts Archives
The Archive includes materials from the Minnesota Orchestral Association, Guthrie Theater, St. Paul Opera Association, Minnesota Dance Theatre and more.
